Punk rock’s salad days come to life in Young, Loud and Snotty, a Photo Survey of ’70s Punk With a Cleveland Slant by Anastasia Pantsios

Veteran Cleveland music photographer Anastasia Pantsios and music memorabilia store Blue Arrow Records have joined forces to present Young, Loud and Snotty, a Photo Survey of ’70s Punk With a Cleveland Slant. It will feature images of such Northeast Ohio punk/underground icons as the Dead Boys, Pere Ubu, the Rubber City Rebels, Devo, Tin Huey, Chi Pig, Peter Laughner, and the Pagans, as well as from Cleveland appearances by the Ramones, the New York Dolls, and the Clash.

The show will open with a reception from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, in the space adjoining the store, that will feature Scott “Cheese” Borger of the Pink Holes, spinning Cleveland-related punk tunes, and an appearance by former Dead Boy Cheetah Chrome to sign autographs and maybe leak a few clues about his soon-to-be-released autobiography, A Dead Boy’s Tale: From the Front Lines of Punk Rock. Chrome’s latest musical project, the Batusis, with former New York Doll Sylvain Sylvain, play the same night at the Beachland Ballroom (15711 Waterloo Rd., 216-383-1244, beachlandballroom.com) at 9 p.m., with Living Stereo and the Fugitive Kind opening. Tickets are $15; the photo show is free. Let us know you're coming by RSVP'ing!

About Blue Arrow

Blue Arrow Records features a wide ranging selection of quality and reasonably priced LPs and 45s spanning from the 1950s to the present day. You will be able to peruse selections from jazz, country, classic rock, soul, rock-n-roll and more! New merchandise is added daily to the already well stocked shelves. No matter what your taste is in music, you will find a home here.

The floor alone is worth the trip! Pete Gulyas, owner, personally renovated the 1300 square foot space, including the incredible floor, which he covered entirely with vintage album covers. Each album cover is a work of art, but all together creates a mosaic that speaks to the message of the store.

Blue Arrow Records is not only a haven for those with a love of music, but a destination for people looking for unique items such as vintage magazines, t-shirts, furniture and other cool merchandise. While you're here you can check out the other eclectic and interesting stores in our neighborhood, including Low Life Gallery, Waterloo 7 Art Gallery, Shoparooni, Music Saves, This Way Out Vintage Shop and the Beachland Ballroom.
